Yi Pin Ng is a Partner at GGV Capital and works on Advance Manufacturing, Mobile Solutions (Hardware & Software), Clean Technology and Logistics Services, etc.
Yi Pin joined GGV in 2004 in the Menlo Park office where he focused on hardware and systems. In 2008, Yi Pin moved to GGV’s Shanghai’s office where he increased his focus to include advance manufacturing, mobile solutions, clean technology as well as logistic services. Some of his China investments include Mei Hua Group Co, AAC Acoustics, Heptagon, Rong Qing Cold Chain Logistics, Sinosun & Xenon Technologies etc. Prior to GGV, Yi Pin served at the Private Equity/VC Group at Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC).
As a venture capitalist, Yi Pin leads investments in Xfire (acquired by Viacom), Placeware (acquired by Microsoft), Arbortext (acquired by Parametric Technology Corp, PTC), G-Log (acquired by Oracle), Ageia (acquired by Nvidia), Wayport (acquired by AT&T), Teranetics (acquired by PLX) , AAC Acoustics (HKSE: 2018), MeiHua Group (Shanghai Stock Exchange: 600873), and Rong Qing (acquired by Pamoja) etc.
Before joining GIC SI in 2000, Yi Pin held operations planning and operational management positions at Sun Microsystems covering the Asia Pacific region. He is also a commissioned officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy. Yi Pin holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering & Math from University of San Francisco, an M.S. in Operations Research from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Nanyang Business School, Singapore. Yi Pin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
