Jixun Foo, Global Managing Partner at GGV Capital, joined the firm in 2006. He is consistently recognized among the top VCs in China and counts 18 of his investments as mega-unicorns or unicorns, including Baidu, Boss Zhipin, Didi, Grab, Hello, Kuadian, Kujiale, Keya Yiliao, Manbang, Meicai, Qunar/Ctrip, SmartMi, Tujia, UCWeb, Udaan, Youku Tudou, Xpeng Motors, and Zuiyou.

A Singaporean scholar turned venture capitalist, Jixun leads GGV Capital’s global investment team and oversees its sector-focused investment strategy. Jixun has been consistently recognized among the top VCs in Asia, completed four new IPOs in 2021 alone, and serves on the board of directors for SGInnovate, an accelerator funded by the Singaporean government to help entrepreneurial scientists. At the start of his VC career, he was an early investor in Baidu and is well-known for his support of startup founders across Asia, including Robin Li of Baidu, He Xiaopeng of Xpeng, Anthony Tan of Grab, and Belva Devarahe of Ruangguru in Indonesia.

Jixun joined GGV in 2006 and has spent the last 20 years working with entrepreneurs in the travel and transportation, social media and commerce, and enterprise services sectors in China and Southeast Asia. His portfolio includes mega-unicorns or unicorns, including Baidu (BIDU), Boss Zhipin (BZ), Grab (GRAB), Hello, Kujiale, Full Truck Alliance (YMM), Qunar/Ctrip (CTRIP), UCWeb (Acq: Alibaba), Youku Tudou (Acq: Alibaba), and Xpeng Motors (XPEV). He currently serves on the boards of Baidu, Hello, Kujiale, Ruangguru, and XPeng Motors, and has played a key role in many key strategic mergers and acquisitions, such as those of Youku-Tudou (first-ever multibillion-dollar tech merger in China), Baidu/Qunar, Ctrip/Qunar, and Full Truck Alliance (Yunmanman/Huachebang).

Jixun started his venture capital career at Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures, where he led investment efforts in Asian companies such as Baidu (BIDU). Prior to DFJ ePlanet, Jixun headed up the Investment Group under the Finance & Investment Division of the National Science & Technology Board of Singapore (NSTB) and was previously an R&D project group leader at Hewlett-Packard. Jixun graduated from the National University of Singapore with a First-Class Honors degree in Engineering, and received an M.Sc. in Management of Technology from the university's Graduate School of Business.

Jixun has been recognized by Forbes China as one of the “Best Venture Capitalists” every year since 2006. He was also named as one of the Top 10 Venture Capitalists by Zero2IPO as well as "VC Professional of the Year" by the Asia Venture Capital Journal. He has been named to the global Forbes Midas list every year since 2019.
