Joe Yan is an Operating Partner based in GGV Capital’s Singapore office, providing support on GGV’s global investments and portfolio management, as well as platform and talent services.
Prior to GGV, Joe was the Country Head of Greater China at Stripe, one of the largest fintech companies building economic infrastructure for the internet. Joe led the overall go-to-market strategy and day-to-day operations across the region to drive the revenue growth and product-market fit improvement, making the Greater China Region one of the fastest-growing markets at Stripe.
Before Stripe, Joe served as many executive roles in a number of top tech companies in China and globally, including Global Vice President of Merchant Service at Wish (a GGV portfolio company), General Manager of Strategic Partnerships at Google, and Vice President of VIP.com (NYSE:VIPS). Previously, Joe served as a Director at Alibaba Group to head the operations and product management at AliExpress, as well as international corporate development at Alibaba Group. Joe was also a founding leadership team member of Amazon Global Selling and Amazon Marketplace businesses in China.
Joe holds an MBA from Peking University and received a BEc in economics from University of Science and Technology Beijing. He also holds an EMBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He is currently an active board director and advisor for a series of listed companies and startups.
